Establishment - in 1991.

Objectives - The department focused on promoting meaningful rituals, collective mantra chanting, discipline, proper conduct, austerity, and imparting knowledge of ancient values. Efforts were made to dispel blind superstitions from cultural rituals, advocate unbiased rights for performing rituals for both married and unmarried individuals, and to eradicate harmful traditions based on caste, religion, and social discrimination.

Work Profile -This department has its own ritual books. It conducts approximately 50 different types of rituals and ceremonies. These include ceremonies such as Satyanarayan Puja, Ganesh Prana-Pratishtha, Lakshmi Puja, Bhoomi Puja, Vidyavrat Sanskar, marriage ceremonies, naming ceremonies, final rites, Ekoddishta Shradh, Vastushanti, and Sahasrachandra Darshan.

Scope - This Department conducts rituals in Solapur, as well as in the entire state of Maharashtra, in other states, and even in foreign countries.

Training Program -

  • Since 1997, the department has conducted training workshops in Solapur and several other locations, including Hyderabad (Bhagyanagar), Baramati, Dombivali, Nashik, and Gulbarga. Approximately 700 people have been trained in various rituals.
  • Training has been provided for 90 individuals from various communities like Padmashali, Lingayat, Matang, Mochi, Dhor, Chambhar.
  • The department successfully conducts around 1000 ritual ceremonies every year.
